Snorkling the Aquario Natural
Snorkling in the River Formosinho is like being in a natural aquarium, with its waters crystal clear and schools of colored fish. The river has its source in the "Ecological Park Baia Bonita", an area with lush tropical forest where a variety of regional animals can be observed. We will start the tour by a walk upstream, through the forests that cover the river and its source. At the river-spring, called the "Baia Bonito" we be able to see the water boiling out of the ground. Here we will put on our masks and enter the crystal clear water. We will snorkel downstream and let ourselfs be carried awauy by the current, swimming in the middle of schools of fish. We will be in touch with a fascinating flora and fauna.
Included: Snorkel, mask, wetsuit, English speaking guide, transport.
Duration: approximately 4 hours.
Remarks: No sunscreen allowed, as its chemical substances can have negative affects on the fragile water ecosystem. Shower is obligatory before entering the river.

The Gruta do Lago Azul (Cave of the blue lake) possess in its interior a blue lake with dimensions that makes it one of Earths biggest flooded caves. In the beginning of the nineties of the last century a brazilian expedition of speleo-divers found a series mammal fossils - as the Saber Tooth Tiger and the giant laziness - that lived during the Pleistoceno Period.
During this excursion you will descend 90 meters in an half open cave where we will have a look at the stalactite formations and the spectacular blue color of the sun rays reflecting in the lake.
