The
Acajatuba Jungle Lodge
is a rustic ecological hotel constructed according to native architectural
lines.
The lodge is a true paradise for those seeking close contact with the
Amazonian nature and culture.
The entire structure is incorporated in the surrounding pristine forest,
set up in an ecological responsable and sustainable way, using local woods,
palm-tree leaves, etc.
At the same time it meets the comfort and safety requirements of the today's
traveler. Accomadation is provided by rustic wooden cabins complete with
screened windows, ensuite bathroom with running water provided from natural
springs.

Acajatuba
Lodge 3 DAYS /2 NIGHTS (early morning departure
from Manaus, program called Curimata
)
DAY
1
Early morning pick-up from hotel or airport, transfer to the pier
of the Tropical Hotel where we will start our trip by boat, passing
by the famous "Meeting of the Waters". At arrival a welcome
drink and a short briefing. After lunch, we will start our first excursion;
a boat tour through the Igarapés and Igapós Rivers.
We will return to the lodge to be able to enjoy the marvelous jungle
sunset. After dinner, we will have a night tour in small boats, spotting
caimans with flashlights along the riverbank.

DAY
2
Early in the morning we will make a sunrise tour. Return for breakfast,
followed by a guided trek in the Amazon forest. After lunch, we will
go piranha fishing, followed by a visit to a native village. Before
sunset, we will return to the lodge. Dinner and overnight in the lodge. |
DAY
3
Visit to a fluvial beach (river beach, periodically flooded) at Rio
Negro, where you will spend the morning, with a bit of luck we even
might spot botos (fresh water dolphins). Lunch at the Lodge. Return
to Manaus by boat, arriving in the afternoon.

The Acajatuba lodge can be visited in every month of the year, hikes
and excursions can vary accoring to waterlevels.
* Tropical weather and direct sunlight demands sun protection and plenty
of fluids, moreover, insect repellent will be at use at night.
* The Amazon is a yellow fever and malaria region. Yellow Fever inoculation
is advisable. Make sure you plan this in advance because the vaccine
only becomes effective after 10 days. Consult with your local doctor
whether or not you should take malaria pills. If so, you will need to
start taking these before you travel to Brazil.

departure from Manaus, program called Sucurijú)
DAY 1
Afternoon (2:00 PM) pick-up at the airport or hotel, departure from
the pier of the Tropical Hotel Manaus by boat to the lodge. Upon arrival
a welcome drink and a short briefing. After dinner, we will have a
night tour in small boats, spotting caimans with flashlights along
the riverbank.

DAY 2
As in Curimata package (3 DAYS / 2 NIGHTS) |
DAY 3
Morning program as in Curimata package, after visiting a native village
we will have time to relax in the Lodge, observing the local parrots
and spotting botos (fresh water dolphins) in the river and enjoy the
sunset. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge. |
DAY 4
After breakfast, we will look for the Samaumeira, the biggest tree
of the Amazon forest, which was used as a way of communication by
the natives. Return to the Lodge for lunch. After lunch departure
to Manaus, arriving just before sunset.
